Post Wedding

Wow, it’s been three months since the wedding. Here is an update from the Pikes.

About a month after the wedding (on my birthday), we went to Niagara Falls Canada for a weekend honeymoon. One of my highlights was the helicopter ride over the Falls. We are hoping to take a longer honeymoon trip next year. The “where” is still to be determined. However the top contender is China for the 2008 Summer Olympics.

On the home front, I moved into Brian’s house in Seward Nebraska. Most of the boxes have been unpacked. The home office is looking good and so is the rest of the house.

For Labor Day weekend, we went to Chicago for reunion of Brian college friends. I’ve never been to Chicago before. It was fun to walk around downtown, dine at Navy Pier and make smores by an outdoor fire.

As for future plans, there is a trip to Northwestern (Brian’s college) the first weekend in November and a trip to Houston in early December.

Wedding pictures...finally!

Thanks to everyone who made the trip out to the Nebraska.

The wedding was lots of fun and almost everything went according to plan. The only big glitch was the fortune flower toss. Instead of a traditional bouquet toss, everyone was invited to try to catch a flower with a quirky fortune attached. The idea was the bouquet would fall apart and people would catch a single flower. The flowers were bunched together with a ribbon. Unfortunately on the first toss the ribbon slipped out of my hand. Luckily, Matt (one of Brian’s co-workers) was a really good sport and let me try it again.
On the second attempt, Matt still caught the lucky flower with the prize.

Here are some pictures from the wedding taken by Lacey Lemmert and my maid of honor Susan Lam.

Lacey documented the groom and groomsmen preparation. She also has great ceremony pictures.

Susan documented the girl’s preparation. Her pictures have the shots of each reception table.

Happy Viewing!

RSVP Reminder

Hi y’all.

Now that my work project has been completed, the wedding planning is picking back up. This is a friendly reminder to send back your RSVP cards. There will be assigned tables so it would really help me complete the seating chart if everyone returned the RSVP cards regardless if you plan to attend or not.

Hope to see ya soon.

We haven't disappeared...

Hey, all! This is a post that shall two purposes. First, we have not disappeard, nor have we forgotten about this site. We have been very busy lately actually! The most noteworthy item is that in the last weekend of April, our immediate families met for the very first time at the downtown Olive Garden in Salt Lake City. I think everyone involved will say that a good time was held by all! We also had our engagement photo session last Wednesday (May 4). I just got the prints back and I think they look great! (Anita hasn't seen them yet as she is down in Texas for business... so hun, if you see them, I think you'll agree Frank did an excellent job!)

The second purpose of this post is to let you know about a post that we had to edit. When it comes to reserving rooms at the Super 8 Motel in Seward, you can talk to either: Tamera Foreman, or Kathleen Wiese, and either should be able to help reserve your room. Remember, that post is on the right-hand side of the page in the "stickies" section.

Let's Dance On...

OK, guys and gals, we could use a little bit of help here. We want a very happening shindig at the reception, and to do that we need songs that y'all would dance to. So, if you could please either post or email one of us with your top dance songs (yes, even if they may be slow-dance songs or line-dance songs), we'll do our best to make sure they're played! And to help you out, here are some links to some possibilities:
